It's been announced and it's coming our way very soon! It's called live action, but it's basically a movie ispired by an anime/manga. The first 'Fullmetal Alchemist Live Action' will be out this winter 2017!
The movie is directed by Fumihiko Sori, produced by Warner Bros Japan, and cast, among others, Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric, Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell. All the main actors with their anime counterpart (via Crunchyrol) :
If you're not familiar with Fullmetal Alchemist (which I suggest you do, asap), here's somewhat of a background: The story follows the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric trying to revive their mother as children with alchemy, the first losing one arm and one leg in the process, the second losing his entire body.
As they grow up, with the goal to get back their own bodies, they become State Alchemist to find the powerful Philosopher's Stone but they'll have to face the government corruption and the plans of very strong enemies.
The mangaka behind Fullmetal Alchemist, Hiromu Arakawa, whom published the manga from 2001 to 2010 in the Monthly Shonen Gangan, announced a 'special edition comic' that people who attend the movie screening will receive.
Indeed there will be some differences between the anime and the live action, first being some character age. For cinema purposes, or whatnot, for example, Edward will be 20 years old and not 15 like in the original story.
Well, as I wrote this article, new posters for the movie came out, chek them out:

Can I just say, it looks amazing. I'm actually not very fond of live actions (with few exceptions), but this seems really beyond my wildest dreams. As a long-standing fan of the manga and anime, I know I'm gonna love it. Are you looking forward to it?
Before starting on the real news, in case you don't know the manga/anime known as "Kuragehime" I'll briefly recap it for you:
Kuragehime, literally 'Princess Jellyfish' is a 2008 josei manga by Akiko Higashimura, still in progress, very popular in Japan. Even an anime of 11 episodes was made out of the first 5 volumes of the series!
Plot: It's the story of Tsukimi, a girl who lives in a dorm called 'Amamizukan' with four other girls (called 'amars', plus a shut-in BL mangaka) who are neets just like her. They are afraid -to the point of getting paralised- of fashionable things and people. So they don't interact with people outside the dorm, they don't go out, have quite the unkept look, they don't work and are still supported by their parents.
Everyone of them has a peculiar hobby, Tsukimi loves jellyfishes to the point of drawning them and buying a little one she'll name 'Clara'.
*May contain spoilers*
And that's where the story begins. Tsukimi meets a beautiful fashionable, and rich, girl who turns out to be.. a boy, called Kuranosuke. Poor Tsukimi can't deal with people.. even less boys!
Girl and boy version of Kuranosuke.
That strange boy, who loves fashion and dressing up, take interest in Tsukimi after seeing her jellyfish drawings and from that moment on he'll stick to her like glue, even trasforming her like the most classical Cinderella.
But.. nobody has to know he's a boy because of dorm's rule which doesn't accept boys. Also the dorm seems to be in danger of being demolished, but Kuranosuke ('Kurako' as a girl for the other Amars) comes up with an idea..
Can fashion save Amamizukan?
Anyway a movie (technically a live-action) was made and will premiere on December 27 of this year, in Japan! The movie is produced by Asmik Ace Entertainment, directed by Taisuke Kawamura and the script is by Toshiya Ono.
Tsukimi is played by Rena Nounen and as you can see she's perfect (maybe just too beautiful from starter)!
Why am I bringing all of this up? Because we finally have the complete trailer!! Yay!
So, what do you think? I'll do a detailed review when the movie will come out.
Now, go and read/watch Kuragehime (again if you already have) and let's all wait for this movie to come out! I'm so excited and seriously can't wait to see it!
Kotonoha no niwa: Aka, The garden of words, a 2013 japanese animated movie by Makoto Shinkai. I saw it recently and I friggin' loved it. The landscape drawings are just so beautiful and realistic you could even think they are real, I'm not joking. And the story is just full of fluff and.. well, you read a detailed reviewhere.
You must watch this movie!! Also, you can easily find it online with subs, here's the trailer:
Ogawa Yayoi: She's an amazing mangaka (aka manga artist) who mostly writes/draws josei, her most famous works are 'Kimi wa Petto', 'Baby Pop', 'Candy Life', and 'Kiss & Never Cry'.
Well if you haven't read any of those yet, then I suggest you do, I really loved those stories a lot! ٩(^‿^)۶
Music:
Listening again to 2NE1, after I left them alone for a while. Why did I? I alway love them! And this song feels like summer, right? :)
And Taeyang, with his new amazing album 'RISE', this is 'Eyes, Nose, Lips' the new album's single and MV.
Yup, that's all k-music but really, other than that I have been listening just to random music on the radio.
'My Girlfriend is a Gumiho' is a south-korean drama, aired in 2010, starring Shin Min-ah and Lee Seung-gi. It is translated as 'My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tail Fox'.
[Note: A gumiho -or nine tail fox- is a legendary fox that, after living thousand years, become a demon in the form of a fox with nine tails. It can transform into other creature too, like humans and mostly beautiful girls that seduces men and eat their heart or lives. ]
Shin Min-ah is the 'Gumiho' itselfs, in the begin of the story she is sealed inside an ancient painting in a temple. Then a clumsy boy, Cha Dae-woong, played by Lee Seung-gi, unintentionally frees her. Since he's scared he escapes but doing so he falls and nearly dies, what saves him is non others that the Gumiho.
The next day he doesn't remember a thing but finds a pretty girl in a white dress following him. Cha Dae-woong thinks he's lucky but he'll soon change his mind..The girl really follows him everywhere, to his university till his home. She then claims to be the Gumiho that he freed and that she saved his life.
Of course he doesn't believe her and just think she's crazy, so he does everything he can to keep her away. Then to prove it she's a real gumiho, on a full moon night, she shows him her real nature -that is to say her nine tails-
Dae-woong is scared to death and tries to escape again but she takes the bead that saved his life back and he falls flat on the floor, in a lot of pain. The gumiho then gives him another chance and decides to be with him. Then basically Dae-woong has to suck it up and let her do whatever she wants.
After that he lets her stay with him and tries to make her happy, all that while hiding to others her true identity. On her part she doesn't know anything about modern society- and she likes Dae-woong so she follows him around. After a little while we get to know Mi-ho -that's how Dae-woong call her- past. She was in love with a man and wanted to live with humans, but he betrayed her. Even after that she still wants to live in the human world and act like them. Her story is just so sad and she really comes off it as super cute and pure.
Well, obliviously a drama is no drama wihtout some antagonist. So we have Park Dong-joo, an half-human that tries to bring Mi-ho back to the painting, so he pursue her while pretending to be a kind veterinarian. After a while he finally understands her reasons and tells her who to become an half-human, that is to say she has to make so Dae-woong keeps her bead within him for 100 days, enter a 'Love Contract' and keep the bead from being harmed by remaining chaste.
However by doing so, after 100 days the human will die. But Dong-Ju doesn't tell her about that, nor does he tell her about his past or reasons.. we'll find out about that much later.
Finally, Mi-ho and Dae-woong fall in love. They don't know anything about the truth, if Mi-ho becomes partly or full human he will die.
They just live happly, being cute, as he tries to break-out as a action actor and film-maker. What will happen after that? Will he be safe and will she manage to become human? Well, for that, you have to see the drama.
There are just 16 episodes, and you can watch it here.
I know you'll love it as much as I did. I hope Shin Min-ah and Lee Seung-gi will do more movies and dramas together because they have such a great chemistry and are so cute! Obliviously there are a lot of characters, I just named three because they were the most important, but you can find out about the others -and the actors- here.
I'll post below the opening and some of the OST songs -which are truly good-
This is singed by Lee Seung-gi himself.
This is by Lee Sun Hee, the 'fox' theme.
So, please, definitely watch 'My Girlfriend is a Gumiho'!
