As you know last summer I went to Japan and there were a lot of things I didn't know, even though I did a lot of research, that's why I think you should get prepared really well before going!
And a good-cute hat.
Or do it the japanese way, with a sun-umbrella. Yep, that's a totally normal thing there so don't be embarassed if you're not used to it (I thought it was weird at the start but there's lots of choice, and they are actually super useful. Also prevent from getting burnt or tan!)
2. Take pictures and notes! It's an amazing opportunity so you need to take a lot of pictures and write down names and places -so that you won't forget- or write a diary!
3. If you're scared of bugs or insect in general then..be prepared, Japan is known for having HUGE insects. And you'll find a lot of them in your way. So don't think twice about it and buy a repellent spray! Also, if you're not staying in a hotel, be sure to always clean your room, because gokiburi (cockroaches) are easily attracted by food and dirt.
Like I said, everywhere lol.
5. Get a fan! You don't need to buy it because sometimes they'll give them to you for free (like with tissue, for advertising). Be sure to keep them, they'll come in handy!
By the way I dedicated a whole post on japanese fans, so if you want to know more go here.
6. Since it's hot and humid, you need to take care of your face.. with oil absorbing sheets! Trust me, they really work and are life-saving, lol.
7. It may be hot outside but inside buses or buildings you'll freeze! Aircon in Japan on summer is always on, so in order not to catch a cold, you need to cover up when you go inside a shop or anywhere. I know it seems crazy, but trust me.. you don't want to run a fever in a foreign Country and above all during summer.
Also, don't forget you're a tourist so you have to respect Japan's customs and their dresscode! Check this out to know more about it.

That's it for now, next will be another post about summer an 'how to enjoy' type. ;)
